We've had two snows at the house so far...although there is no snow on the ground right now. We definitely have the snow bug going though. Sophia is really excited about snow this year. I bought her some used strap on skis today and as you can see, she loves them!

Oops! It didn't take 2 of the Halloween photos. Here they are!

Happy Halloween! Sophia had a good time this year. She wasn't intimidated by any costumes. It was all a little puzzling to her. She wanted the candy, but didn't want to put it in her bucket. She finally had too when her hands were too full. The funniest part was when she say a kid dressed like Elmo. She went running after him calling "Elmo! Elmo!"

I can't believe the summer is gone. It is supposed to snow this weekend here in Utah! John is still busy in Colorado, trying to finish up his business and take care of the rentals before coming back to Utah. Sophia and I are holding down the fort here. We can't wait to all be together. It has been a very long summer with lots of travel to Colorado. Here are a couple more recent pics of Sophia.

I just can't seem to blog more than once a month! Sophia and I went to Colorado for the 4th of July to visit John. It is so beautiful there. We had a great time. We did the parade in town, of course, but also did a little hiking. She can tolerate about 1 hour in the pack. She likes to get out and walk a little too. I am surprised at how far she can walk....she does get distracted pretty easily though. We also did alot of visiting with friends there. Sophia has several young kids to play with regularly there so she really enjoys going to Crested Butte. We are home for a short 2 and 1/2 weeks, then we go back for 12 days. We are having a busy summer. Hope everyone else is having a great summer too!

I know it has been a while since I posted, but it has been so busy. John is in Colorado now, so Sophia and I are on our own. We have been on one visit to Colorado and plan on going for 2 weeks over the 4th of July. We look forward to escaping the heat. These pictures were taken by a friend of mine in late May.

Hello!

Jazz fest in New Orleans was alot of fun this year, despite the 6 inches of rain on Saturday...and yes, we did walk home 2 miles in that downpour! Sophia went to sleep while I was carrying her and we were all drenched by the time we got to the hotel. Thank goodness it wasn't cold. She really had a good time with the music and danced her heart out!

After Jazz fest on Monday the weather was great and we got out and explored alittle. The photos are of Sophia at the fountain in Jackson Square and just walking along a sidewalk in the French Quarter.

Now we are home and will enjoy our time together over the next 2 weeks before John leaves. He will go back to Colorado around the 19th or 20th. Sophia and I will sure miss him!

We just returned for Crested Butte where we closed on a 6 plex. It has been a very trying winter getting this deal all together, but it finally happened. We were busy the entire visit, but did manage a bit of fun too. Chris Cappellucci had us over for a belated Easter Brunch....even had an easter basket for Sophia! Sophia loved it at Chris and Steve's...all the attention and a dog too. She loves animals, but calls them all "kitty cat". It is back to work now. Still some good skiing to be had too.

Sorry it has been a couple weeks. We had a good Easter. Veronica and Dag from Tennessee were here for their annual ski trip and Mike, from Aspen, also joined us. I had to work on Easter, but was off the Sat. before and Mon. and Tues. afterwards. Sophia enjoyed her basket and then took a trip up to Alta to watch the skiiers and visit with friends.

It has been a quiet week around here. Just work and a little skiing. It is getting warm now, but we still have about 2-3 feet of snow to melt in the yard. Sophia is into pushing things...and nothing is better than a box filled with toys.

We've mostly stayed around Park City this winter, but we made one trip up to Jackson to visit Lisa and Paul and Chris and Terry. It was a great visit. John got to ski the village with some fresh snow and Sophia and I took a cross country ski with Lisa in Teton Park. Sophia especially enjoyed the plasticware drawer at Chris and Terry's!

We finally had to cut some of that great hair of Sophia's. We hated to do it, but it was always in her face....collecting food. We were afraid she would choke on the barretts because she kept pulling them out and then, of course, they went right to her mouth. I don't love the haircut (it was just bangs), but I guess it will grow out and maybe by then she will leave barretts alone.

March 2, 2008

Well, this is my first try at blogging. I feel like I should go back to January though since my main reason for blogging is to share my family news...esp. Sophia. She turned one on Jan. 19. We didn't do anything too special, just a small cake and one friend over to share the occasion.
